Christ-follower.
Born and raised in an evangelical missionary family, Johnmark discovered the joy of knowing Jesus personally at a young age. In the years that have passed, Johnmark discovered the beauty of sacrament and tradition in the Anglican Church, his current denominational home.
Family.
Johnmark met his wife, Karisa, during his senior year of college. They have been happily married since 2007 and now have two daughters. Karisa is a psychologist specializing in child and adolescent trauma.
Youth Minister.
Johnmark has over a decade of experience in youth ministry. He’s worked as church volunteer, with two different parachurch ministries and as a vocational youth pastor. Johnmark believes deeply in the power of connecting young people with adults who love them.
Teaching.
Whether it’s preaching on Sunday morning, teaching a class on the Bible, or working through a book study, Johnmark takes joy in helping others grow in their knowledge and understanding of who God is, how much He loves them, and how they can live in response to God’s love and truth.
Prayer Ministry.
As St. James says, prayer is powerful and effective. Through group and personal prayer appointments, Johnmark helps others connect to God and hear His voice of love and truth in their lives.
Nerd.
Whether it’s Star Wars or Brandon Sanderson novels, as an adult Johnmark learned to embrace all the nerd passions of his youth. Now in his free time you are likely to find him playing board games, reading a good epic fantasy novel, or debating the best installment of the Star Wars films. (It’s Episode V, by the way)
